Before you install

What you need

System

Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit. The installer is an MSI of about 860 MB.

Rights

A normal Windows account is enough. WASDEV installs for the current user, with no administrator password.

Internet

Needed for the download, for online AI and for the licence check. The editors and local AI models work offline.

For the AI

Your own AI account, your own API key or a local engine such as Ollama. WASDEV does not supply keys or paid AI accounts.

For the AI CLIs

Node.js, because Claude Code, Gemini CLI and Antigravity are installed with npm. WASDEV installs the CLIs themselves for you.

Optional

Git, PHP, MariaDB, language servers, Android tools and local AI models are offered inside the app when you first need them.

How to install without a hitch

WASDEV is independent software distributed directly without expensive commercial certificates. If Windows or your browser shows an unfamiliar app warning, here is how to proceed in two quick clicks.

Browser download notice

Chrome or Edge may display: “This file is not commonly downloaded”. Click the three dots next to the download, choose Keep, and then select Keep anyway.

Windows SmartScreen banner

Windows may show a blue banner: “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info, then click the Run anyway button that appears.

No administrator rights

WASDEV installs into your user profile (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\WASDEV). It never asks for an administrator password or modifies system registries.

Clean and verified MSI

Every MSI package is checksummed with SHA-256 and free of trackers, ads, or third-party telemetry. You can verify the hash directly in our release notes.

Automatic silent updates

Once installed, WASDEV updates itself cleanly in the background with automatic rollback support if you ever need to return to an earlier release.

First steps

From download to first result

  1. Run the installerDouble-click the downloaded file and follow the installer. No administrator password is asked.
  2. Choose your languageThe interface starts in Haitian Creole. Open the Language menu in the title bar to switch to one of the eight languages.
  3. Create or open a projectIn Project Library, click “Create new project” and pick a type, or use File → Open Folder for a project you already have.
  4. Connect an AIClick AI Hub at the top right, then “Install All AI” and “Connect All AI to WASDEV”, or enter an API key in the keys tab.
  5. Ask for somethingOpen the chat with Ctrl+Alt+I, choose the company and the model, and describe what you want to build.
