How WASDEV uses data
Last updated: 11 October 2026
A tool that reads your code must be clear about where that code goes. This page says what stays on your computer, what the application sends, and to whom.
In short
- Your projects stay on your disk.
- AI requests go directly from your PC to the provider you chose, never through our servers.
- We do not train any AI model on your data: we never receive it.
- No usage statistics and no crash reports are sent to us.
1. What stays on your computer
Your projects, source code, documents, designs, photos, recordings, AI conversations, settings and version history are files on your disk. API keys and server passwords are stored encrypted in Windows Credential Manager, and exported settings never contain them. Local servers listen on your machine only.
2. What the application sends to us
- Licence check: your e-mail, your licence key, an anonymous identifier of the PC (a hash, not the serial number), the app version and the Windows version. The reply is signed and verified on your PC.
- Update check: a simple request for the list of versions, carrying only the WASDEV version number.
That is all. The licence is re-checked about once a week, and the application keeps working offline between two checks.
3. What the AI sees
When you use an online AI, your messages and the files the AI reads are sent directly from your PC to the provider you chose — Anthropic, Google, OpenAI and so on — with your own account or API key. The AI can only read inside the open project, never the WASDEV installation folder or the files that hold your keys.
What that provider does with your data — how long it keeps it and whether it uses it to improve its models — depends on its own policy and on the plan you have with it. Read it and choose the settings that suit you; we have no access to those exchanges and cannot change them.
With Ollama or LM Studio, AI requests stay on your machine. Signing in to Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI or Antigravity is done by the tool itself: WASDEV only checks whether you are signed in and never sees your AI account.
4. Other connections you start
The built-in browser, Git, the server manager, MCP servers, package installers and downloads connect to the addresses you ask for, like the same tools would outside WASDEV. Those connections go from your PC to those services, not to us.
5. What our licence server keeps
Your e-mail, a hash of the key, the PC identifier, the WASDEV version, the Windows version, and the dates of the first and the last check. It keeps nothing about your projects.
6. What your account page keeps
Your plan and its dates, the computers that use the licence, your payments, and a log of the actions made on the licence. You can free a computer yourself from that page.
7. What we never receive
- your source code, your files and the names of your projects;
- your messages to the AI and its answers;
- your API keys, your AI accounts and your passwords;
- the sites you visit and what you record;
- statistics about how you use the application.
8. If this changes
If a future version needs to send anything more, this page will be updated before that version is released, and anything that is not needed for the licence will be off until you switch it on.
